Another facet of this redistribution of power is the toppling of the well-established pyramidal model of society, perpetuating a futurist, striving, elitist paradigm wherein those on the ‘lower’ levels look up to those on top for governance, inspiration and leadership. That model has been slowly crumbling, accelerating back in 2008, and is in full flow now. Call it the ‘fall of the guru’, or the Cult of the Exterior, call it whatever you want, but the simple truth remains, it is a facet of society that has served its purpose. It is remarkable that those in power always show their truth, if power is sought, actively envisioned or assumed. And yet, it is even more remarkable that people continue to use the pyramidal model to elevate those ‘luminaries’ to the top of the podium, a place wherein there is one way out – down. It is also a Yang orientated model, exclusive and hierarchical, features that are unlikely to hold ground within this time of ‘envisioning’.
It starts, as was once said, by ‘taking up your bed and walking’, by truly knowing (and not merely intellectually understanding but experientially embodied knowing) that you are no more special, more talented or unique than anyone else. No-one can have power over you, unless you choose to give that rite away. Yes, there are those who may be currently in a place to help and assist; there maybe those whose access to financial wealth can alleviate certain pressing anxieties; there may also be those whose skills are more rarefied and enhanced in certain arenas that you may not have focussed on. But does that mean they are better than you?
In the end of the day, we are physically incarnate spirits, learning to be here, trying to remember our way back home, and having experiences that help us learn and grow. Otherwise we would not be here, and that includes those that society elevates as a hero/ teacher/ holy person/ leader/ saviour/ inspirer. They too have a Shadow, as they too have fallen asleep. And during these nascent days, those who have willingly taken on the mantle of gold are fading to grey as the light is spread evenly around the circle, away from the pyramid.
In the end of the day, we are truly all in it together; that we are all made from the same material; and that we inhabit the very same rock orbiting our Yellow Life Giver. Knowing that, truly knowing that, opens you to a deeper sense of acceptance, compassion and respect for all that inhabit this world.
Naïve maybe, but ironically the most apt solutions tend to be the simplest and most straight forward ones.
