Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others.

One day Little Spirit was asked to stand up in front of the class to recount what the teacher had taught the day before. Tentatively he stood up and started to recite what he learned when the teacher suddenly interrupted him with an emphatic,
“No!”
Taken aback, Little Spirit stopped and then restarted. For a second time the teacher boomed,
“No!”
Completely flustered and somewhat embarrassed, Little Spirit sat down, his face lit red with shame.
The next child rose to recite and had also just begun when the teacher shouted,
“No!”
The little girl, however, ignored the teacher’s interruption and kept on with her recitation until she completed it. As she sat down, the teacher replied,
“Very good!”
Little Spirit was annoyed.
”But you didn’t let me finish. You stopped me twice” he protested.
“Ah, Little Spirit!” replied the teacher, in a gentle voice, “It is not enough to know what we have done in class. You have to be sure. When I interrupted you, you could have ignored me and continued, just as your friend did. However, you allowed me to stop you and that means you are uncertain. If the world says, ‘No!’ it is your business to say ‘Yes!’ and be certain and confident about it. After all, the world will say NO in many ways – ‘You can’t say that; you can’t write that; you are not good enough; you are too old; you are too young; you haven’t enough experience; you cannot risk your job and security; what about your family; you will never make a living from that; it cannot be done. It is impossible…’
Little wonder that anyone can achieve who they truly are when things are big that should be small! Every ‘No!’ that you hear has the potential to erode your confidence little by little until you give up and stop being you altogether. Who can tell what magic spells when you are told not to see, breathe, imagine or feel. No more will you be.
So don’t let the world say ‘No!’ to you today. Be you. Trust you. Be determined to show up. Don’t fracture yourself as the living dead in one and appearing dead in the other, yet living within. Regardless of what others may say or do, have the faith to demonstrate the passion, the light and the essence of who you are.
Little Sprit learned a lesson in self-belief which he never forgot.

Deemed too subjective, neither quantifiable nor evidence based, therefore inconsistent or unreasonable, the prevailing mind-set largely disregards that which is instinctive, intuitive or interior in favour of the analytic, exterior and material. It is no wonder that the light of your inner being may struggle to be freely expressed as your inner world is rarely ‘genuinely’ encouraged. Moreover, you have been led to believe that you cannot steer the momentum of that which is ‘without’. It is merely something that ‘happens’ to you and you are a recipient unto which life occurs.
This disempowering attitude of helpless causality – that events “just happen”, are random or have no inherent meaning, after all, “They are just ‘events’- is the opposite attitude to all of the spiritual traditions.
Metaphysically speaking, every move you make; every situation, circumstance, or event in your life; every imagination, emotion, word and action that you generate, is support by a corresponding cosmic or spiritual force. As such, everything which takes place in your life has the potential to invoke some aspect of your psyche – constructively or otherwise.
Creation
Creation first forms and comes into being on the inner planes of your consciousness, beginning with the most ordinary things – your imagination that fuels your emotions, your thoughts and ultimately your actions. The first step is to transform negativity whenever negativity arises in your mind and heart, and to keep your mind and heart positively focused and directed towards your invariant light.
In a societal structure that has been intentionally designed to diminish the power of your interior experiences and subsequently denies the personal spiritual meaning inherent within virtually everything that occurs in your life, doubt is like a wave in the sea, driven and tossed by the wind, constantly eroding the parameters of your emerging self.
Overcoming doubt maybe an ongoing process but the quality of your life experience is dependent upon your ability to see through your doubt and fear; to cultivate a deeper inner conviction or faith; and to keep feeding your inner flame, or spirit.
Faith is a belief in the real power of your indwelling Light just as the ability to maintain positive thought, feeling-emotion and visualisation-imagination is what is meant by inner faith. Within the astrological tradition, faith in your inmost being is the essence of the zodiacal sign of Leo, or more accurately – Fixed Fire.
Leo
Enshrined within the glyph, or symbols, of Leo, your embodied spirit is compelled to venture out into the world, radiating as it arcs upwards along the path of light, before descending within to reconstitute your spirit having matured within the interaction of the world without. Leo, therefore, corresponds to the stage of your evolution wherein the spark of life becomes both strong and enduring.
Your inner fire (Leo) can not only give you a deeper sense of purpose, but it can sustain you through life’s vicissitudes. Without your fire (Leo), the fog of amnesia can obscure your connection to spirit; without inner purpose, your soul’s intention may struggle to find expression; without vision, you cannot create intention and therefore reality.
Without Leo, there is no self-generated creative impulse; without Leo, you are not blessed with a unique vision of Self. Without Leo, there is no individual colour and the robotic monochrome of the system prevails.
As you connect to what gives you passion and purpose; as you truly understand what triggers your ego or sense of pride, then the dense emotional states such as fear, doubt and insecurity can be dispelled. When you develop a sense of self-belief, you can walk confidently, integrating without breaking stride all healing experiences as you become no longer dependent upon the external world as a gauge of how you are doing, as Little Spirit did. As you connect with your inner Leo, you add colour to the world.
New Moon
Every 29 days, the Moon enters the Vault of Light, disappearing from view as She seeks to replenish and renew her vital energy. This time of invisibility is necessary to silently touch base with who She is, so she can take time to take stock of who she has become as a consequence of interacting with the world at large. Has She compromised too much? Has She stayed true to herself? Does She need to modify certain perspectives if She reacted disproportionately to the circumstances of the past Moon-th?
This is the Way of the Inner.
And the time of the New is that of the Inner.
Over the course of a Solar cycle of 12 ‘Sun-ths’, there are 13 emotional replenishes, affording you an opportunity to replenish and renew, to set intentions and to gain insight into how well integrated in your life specifics theme are. On the 28th of July 2022 the renewal of your inner spark of divinity, that spirit which not only stokes the flames of your inner faith, it also enlivens your creative impulse, is on offer.
Faith
Faith is the assurance of the things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. It is also a belief in the real power of the heart and specifically the power of the indwelling spirit, which in turn generates faith also in yourself and your inmost being. Everything first forms and comes into being on the inner planets of consciousness, in more subtle dimensions of reality. If, through positive thoughts, positive feeling-emotion, and creative visualisation you are able to make a change in these more subtle dimensions then a corresponding change will occur at the level of the physical.
During this forthcoming New Moon, the time to plant a seed to enable your faith to grow a vision for your creativity has arisen. In the days leading up to the 28th, I would invite you to hold a space around what inspires you; what things give you purpose; or what forms of creativity you are passionate about, so that you can re-ignite your inner fire. Take the time to write a list containing all the things about life that you are passionate about – be they emotional, psychological or practical activities.
Visualise yourself committing yourself to something that you love, regardless of how it may be perceived by those around you. And observe the resistance that may arise threating to tighten the tethers that bind your spirit, frustrating your confidence and diminishing your self-belief. As the union of Lights rekindles the Inner Light, place into this fire all those resistances and let that veil be transformed into awareness as you release yourself from the binds that have splintered your soul.
The empowerment of your will and maintaining it in the presence of other people is essential to the essence of what this Fixed Fire, or Leonine, consciousness filter truly means. When you choose to consciously engage with your inner light, you not only become aware of the play of cosmic forces, but you consciously participate in the play of spiritual forces as a co-creator with your sOurce and with gOd consciousness. After all, the light of the Fixed Fire is the light of your individual spark of Divinity.
