Welcome and thank you for stopping by to check out my webpage. I appreciate it. If truth be known, I’ve been resisting having my own dedicated page because I prefer the silent path, even though I’ve written, lectured or been interviewed in the public domain, both under my own name and under a ‘code’ name for many years. I’m genuinely not interested in the path of the world; I rarely watch TV; I’ve not bought a newspaper for years; I haven’t worn a watch since I left school in 1989; I am terrible at general knowledge table quizzes; I have distain for the shallowness and manipulation of the media; and I don’t believe in self-promotion, as I believe that when you walk the path that deeply authenticates your being, you will make a sustainable living. And I am ever so blessed to have been actively supported by those who have ‘found’ me, without who I would not have be able to make a living from what I lOve – to serve the conscious spiritual development of a person’s soul.
However, due to escalating administration and increased frustration at the quality of astrology that is being actively promoted on the internet, I decided to open a place in space so that I could write more freely about how I ‘see’ and experience our conscious development through the lens of astrology. I do not believe that astrology is something that happens to us. I do not believe that astrology is objective and is a ‘force’ that compels, defines, dictates or puppeteers our lives. I do not believe that the planets cause’ anything.
I was drawn into astrology in 1993 after a few years of deep personal spiritual experiences and when I ‘re-discovered’ astrology, it just made sense. In the same way that it was the concept of the Force in Star Wars that captured my imagination as a seven year old, it was the philosophy of astrology that inspired me, as opposed to “discovering what the stars say about my life and my future”. I was not interested whether my life was written; I was not interested in using astrology to determine my path; I was not interested in using astrology to predict and therefore control my life. I was interested in the deeper meaning of life, of furthering my understanding of my consciousness, of connecting consciously to something vaster than what the mundane world offered, and of immersing myself in the ‘Force’!!
It just made sense. It felt like I was remembering something, as opposed to learning something new. It was as if it had always been with me and the feeling of déjà vu was palatable. I immersed myself in studying and mediating on what I was remembering for nearly two years, eating and breathing astrology, forsaking friends, football and work. Utterly consumed I spoke to anyone and everyone about their charts, and very quickly those kind folk mentioned me to their friends and family and in turn they also mentioned me to their friends and family. And so the process of establishing a private practice began.
After 18 months, I felt that there must be more people ‘into’ astrology and so sought out a community. I discovered an Association and joined. In hindsight joining that one class was about meeting my life partner, Karen, as the class was the worst class I’ve ever experienced. Karen had too felt the pull to meet like-minded people and sought out a class at the same time and was also deeply disappointed in the superstitious, un-spiritual, fatalistic approach to astrology that was presented. However, we discovered a mutual passion in astrology and each other and have paralleled with each other since 1994.
We opened the Dublin Astrological Centre (this is where my email address came from – dastroc (d-astro-c)), along with homeopath, Jean Blake, in 1996, as a way of teaching a more spiritually inclined approach to astrology, and somehow it really resonated for people and it grew a little too quickly and Karen and I became administrators, organisers and advertisers as opposed to astrologers and we turned our back on the community of astrology to focus on our own silent path, exploring more deeply the spiritual insights that the ‘meaning of the stars’ offered.
Over the years many clients asked me where I learnt astrology and I had to admit that I learnt more from clients and life experience than from most astrology books or lectures I attended. I do not mean to sound arrogant by saying that, as there are several astrologers who I resonated with in my early days – Charles Harvey, Geoffrey Cornelius, Nicholas Campion, Bernadette Brady, Donna Cunningham, Stephen Arroyo, Dane Rudhyar, Mike Harding, Joanna Hjelmborg, Christian Borup, Liz Greene, Barbara Schermer, for example. But on the whole, I was dissatisfied by the way that many of the astrology books were written. The preface and introduction would often read incredibly insightfully on philosophical matters that interest me, but I found that the language used in the examples contradicted the emphasis on free will and read in quite a limited and determined manner. There was also a huge difference between the way that I was observing astrology in action with my clients and in my personal life and what was theoretically implied by the birth chart. So I found it difficult to recommend any one book that proposed a spiritually conscious approach to astrology that did not read in a fatalistic manner and so Karen and I decided to return to teaching, to offer those who ‘found’ us a psycho-spiritual approach to life.
Please, lest my words are misunderstood, I am not saying that how I see astrology is correct and the right way to practice astrology. I am also not saying that I have not learnt from other astrologers. I am merely saying that there are very few astrologers and astrologies that deeply resonate for me and I found it difficult to recommend one book as being the Bible for astrology, as I would find chapters or paragraphs within various books to be what ‘held’ my attention and awareness.
Astrology, in short, is who I am. It is not something I do. It is not something I work at. It is not something that merely inspires me. Astrology is a way of being, a profoundly sophisticated divinatory tool that enables me to access a deeper consciousness and to connect me to the Divine. It has given me a language to help me serve the souls of other people and facilitate their growth and awareness at all levels of their consciousness. It has given me a deeper understanding of why our history, our society, our sciences, our politics have evolved the way they have. It is the background framework on which each of us lives, after all, we live within a matrix of multileveled possibilities woven together within a pathway of sacred geometry held together by intention. Our physical experience of life takes place within this matrix of unlimited potential manifestation, following the lines, curves and patterns made by this cosmic geometry. Please do not mistake that these celestial patterns determine our reality. The planets are but mere signs that guide and inform the awakening and emergence of our consciousness. That is the beauty of life – our freedom to choose how we live. And that freedom and insight is what I hope offer you whether you become a client, a student of the Blue Rose or merely stop by to read my Rainbow Diaries or other articles I post.
My logo – an amalgam of the symbols for Jupiter and Neptune, a planetary coupling I was born ‘under’ – is a visual depiction of what I intend to do with my life: expand awareness (through connecting with a numinous consciousness), and I truly hope that I hope, one way or the other, that you can gain something from spending time on this page.
Thank you again for reading this first formal blog on this page, and if you are a regular reader of my near daily offerings on my social media pages or on www.cosmicintelligenceagency.com (where I write under the name Agent EI), thank you for journeying with me and for taking time to listen or read what I offer.
My sincerest best wishes to you
