The Festival of Samhain
Sol, the Maker of Festivals, has reached another turning point in our annual rotation around His Light, as we reach the midpoint of His passage South towards the Capricorn Solstice from the Libran Equinox.
Known as Samhain (sow-an, with the “ow” like in “cow.) in the Gaelic tradition, today marks the end of the harvest season and the dawning of winter in the North (and the welcome heat of summer in the South). It is a day of offering thanks to the souls from other realms who protect us, as we offer prayers, light fires and leave gifts (food and drink) to honour their presence within this realm of the Multiverse.
As the Veil thins, your access to and from the Otherworld is easier. So welcome to our fairy friends! May you walk into this world from your own with ease and glee, following the fires we light for you to mark the way.
My question to you on this liminal day is what offering are you making today to those who protect you?
