“The masses never revolt of their own accord, and they never revolt merely because they are oppressed. Indeed, so long as they are not permitted to have standards of comparison, they never even become aware that they are oppressed”
George Orwell, 1984
“So this is how liberty dies – to a thunderous applause”
Revenge of the Sith
I smell the fear that reigns inside as those conditioned to hate and then to blame by those who speak truth in plain sight, yet remain hidden due to doubletalk and distraction. It is easy to see how it has come to this through countless years of inane mental training, regurgitating facts without questioning, knowing more about celebrity than your neighbour, looking outwards and not inwards. It is no wonder that we find ourselves where we are. Individuals, however, can learn and individuals can make a difference, even if society continues to regress despite the illusion of technological comfort.
Truth is the handmaiden of love and honest conversation is the pathway to truth. Never forget that your voice cannot be trampled and in a true democracy open dialogue freely takes place without judgement, condemnation or childish name calling. Do not be afraid to speak up and out when called upon as the coming week unfold. Remember though that words spoken firmly from a place of love are heard more than words carried loudly though the red mist.
