On the 17th August as Fixed Fire Venus moves out from the Sun as Fixed Fire Mars trioctiles Cardinal Earth Saturn
Mountains… We have all climbed them and not just literally. Life is replete with them and there are ever so many ways to engage with them. You can tackle it, full steam ahead, ignoring the stress and strain on your body as you bound like a mountain goat from rock outcrop to rock outcrop; you can impose yourself on it, seeing it as something to conqueror and achieve; you can feel your way long the multitude of meandering pathways, ever upwards, but also sidewards, downwards and upwards again; you can look up towards the pinnacle and gulp, battling THAT inner voice, that fights you every step of the way; you can look up and marvel at what lies before you, eagerly embracing each step up and forward as an achievement in itself; you can embrace the mountain and all that She offers, asking permission to caress her side with your feet, as you walk in reverence on grandmother, giving gratitude for the micro-environments that reveal themselves as you take the time to explore all the options that open up before you; and you can see the mountain you’ve climbed has been an onerous burden or has it been a healing blessing, as you have carry to the crest all that weighs you down in the knowledge that you will release them at the top, relishing in the liberation… Countless ways to climb, each reflecting the state of mind engaging you as you stand with Her before you…
But… mountains also have a summit and regardless of what way you have climbed from there everything seems so serene, so quiet and peaceful; that euphoric feeling of accomplishment; that feeling of relief, that retrospective and reflective feeling reviewing all that has been and all that brought you to this vista; that feeling of perspective looking down upon the vastness of the landscape stretching out so far and wide below – what was all that worry about those tiny details about? From Her crest you can simultaneously see the horizon of birth, the zenith of culmination, the horizon of descent and can feel the depth of ancestors underfoot. You can feel comforted by Her vastness, Her ancientness, Her wisdom, and also awe and fear in Her majesty, Her ferocity and Her raw, primal energy. She is but a microcosm of life. She is but a microcosm of YOUR life.
As you have climbed this past week, how have you climbed? How have you engaged Her? Have you embraced her and listened to what She has revealed? Have you taken time at the summit to pause and appreciate the beauty of the Dawn that spreads around you, or have you spotted another Mountain to climb and are already moving towards it? Remember that this time is about your Heart and whether you are willing to use your wisdom and experience in all that you climb, with all whom you encounter and in all you undertake. The time of tackling is over. It is time to engage, embrace and walk with reverence.
