There is deep wisdom in walking towards the very thing you have been taught to avoid. The shadow, namely those aspects of yourself buried in shame, fear, and denial, holds the key to your freedom. To reject that which binds you to this plane of existence is to remain fragmented, repeating ancestral wounds and karmic patterns that keep you bound to suffering. But to face it, to truly integrate it, is to step into wholeness.
Remember that you carry the weight of those who came before you, their unresolved grief and unspoken wounds woven into the fabric of your being, aside from that which you have (un)consciously created through your learning. That pain lives in your body, in your reactions, in the way you unconsciously sabotage your own freedom. Yet the shadow, when embraced, reveals the source of these patterns, mirroring where you are still imprisoned by the echoes of your past.
Bypassing the dark or numbing it with love and light is not an option. It is central to becoming whole and reaching a state of Samadhi. Authentic alchemy takes place as you descend, or walk in your desert, or spend time in your cave, allowing yourself to witness your ‘dark’ without judgement, reclaiming those very parts of yourself you were taught to suppress, your anger, your grief, your pain, your suffering. Whilst also called the enemies of your soul, they are not true enemies, but teachers and aspects of your truth waiting to be acknowledged.
Once accepted and embraced, once resistance is overcome, something shifts – karma unravels, and dharma unfolds, the weight of generations dissolves, and you step beyond inherited pain into a space of sovereignty. Wholeness is not found in perfection, nor in the illusion of purity, but in the acceptance that those willowy parts of you are not evil, nor are they to be hidden. You, I, everyone contains Shadow and Light. To become free, you must first be willing to see. To become whole, you must embrace all that you are.
The shadow is not your enemy. It is your initiation. It is your fate. And to be at one with the shadow, is to be whole and free.
