There are soul connections which transcends time and space. They weave intricate patterns of ‘destiny’, intermingling life paths across multiple timelines, bound by a cosmic thread and dancing through various epochs.
Encountering someone with whom the connection is instant, at times intense, always irrational yet familiar is often because it is just that – familiar. It is recognition from a distant ages past, lifting an invisible veil as if they have known each other for eons, each heart resonate with ancient echoes that reverberate through time.
As exciting and bewildering as they can be, not all encounters are meant to be lasting, nor do they mean, despite the powerful and impactful presence in your life, that they are to become romantic, even if the charge is scintillating, visceral and consuming. Eros awakened, senses enlivened, pupils dilated, their presence omniscient, filling the space when your eyes close. It feels a lot like love. And it is. But again, that does not mean that it is meant to be the toe curling, physically enamouring embrace between star crossed lovers.
Love is the currency that binds souls together. But love is vaster than the whims and hungers of the ego, the desire for union and the hunger to become one with another. Love shows itself in so many different ways, but there is no doubt that love is charged and meaningful. And a connection with someone whose timeline is intertwined with yours; a connection with the essence of another whose path extends beyond the known and familiar here and now; a connection with a member of your soul-family is one that is truly irrational and yet familiar.
And you know it to be true, as you have many in your life with whom the bonds of familiarity extend beyond the perimeters of physical time.
But we live in a world unable to frame these connections, and therefore confusion can reign, as the consuming desire initially be in that person’s presence can threaten to destabilise your equanimity and to lead you beyond the walls of familiarity and to replenish your soul, weary from the ordinary and everyday.
Many such connections feel fated and it is natural to assume that there has to be history between you both, prior intimate connection that needs to be teased out, or kinship that extends beyond the normal bonds of happenstance meetings. Every soul that incarnates is working through their own lessons and growth in this lifetime. Soul-family connections are those souls whose paths intertwine with our own, whose worldviews, experiences and insights are necessary for our own path, whether their presence and/ or message are delivered in a painful or joy filled manner. Often those more intense encounters are because of interactions that need healing, or between two souls that have to work through patterns and scripts that have been unresolved in ‘previous encounters’.
Some such connections do manifest as romantic bonds, but often they are not meant to become romantic, despite the power and strength of feelings aroused. Many factors are at play including life commitments and circumstances of both individuals, which might prevent a full exploration of their soul connection. Existing commitments, responsibilities, or other relationships that need to be honoured and prioritised may confuse both, given the level of familiarity of this connection. In such situations, respect of the timing and boundaries that are present in those prior connections is necessary, as it may be that the purpose of encountering each other in this lifetime is simply to support and learn from one another in different ways, rather than pursuing a romantic relationship.
Even though it can be challenging and confusing, it is essential to trust the divine timing and the lessons that these soul connections bring. Sometimes, the greatest growth and healing can come from accepting and appreciating the connection in the form it presents itself, rather than trying to force it into a specific mould.
These soul connections serve a higher purpose in your life, even if they don’t align with your expectations or desires. They can bring profound lessons, healing, and transformation, regardless of the nature of the relationship. Sometimes, simply recognising and acknowledging the soul connection can be enough to ignite significant growth and self-discovery, its impact on your spiritual journey being truly transformative.
The intermingling of such extraordinary connections spanning multiple lifetimes, is a testament to the marvel inherent within life. The synchronicities that bring souls together remind you that our souls are not confined by the limitations of time and space. Instead, your soul is an eternal being forever entwined with other souls whose presence ignites a flame – a flame that burns brightly across multiple timelines, illuminating the path towards spiritual growth and understanding.
