The world of matter is beautiful, enchanted by spirit and enlivened by the soul, a world brought alive by those who ‘hear’ and ‘see’ the essence that lies within, whose myriad art forms give testament to the divinity that creation has to offer. But every light particle has its counterpart, its Shadow. The Shadow of the Light has so many ways to ensorcell you, binding you fast to the world of form, which drains you of your vital energies and further distancing you from your true reality – that you are ‘spirit’ incarnate.
Beauty, the realm of pure wonder made flesh, is not merely expressed through the various visual mediums, enhanced by manipulating colour, texture and contrast. Beauty is a quintessence, a quality unknowable that shines through matter, radiating presence, drawing attention towards itself without consciously intended to draw attention. Beauty is awe and wonder and a reminder of the purity of light that exists within all. It is not a product of filters and fillers. It is not a product of allure, enticement and wanton sexuality, qualities that pervade social media, made possible by technology and encouraged by a world fearful of spirit.
As the world is encouraged away from its spiritual origins, matter and form has become deified. The absence of ‘self’, ‘I’ has become a god. The further away from spirit you are drawn, the deeper the need to define a boundary around ‘I’, taken to the extreme by the notion of the ‘selfie’, a phenomenon that fuels the ego and traps the soul within a prism of image and sexuality. The alluring seductress is intentionally invoked, weaving her spells, ensnaring the viewer to belief that her form is all that matters, her sexuality distorting reality and obliquely skewing emotions towards the lower chakras.
In the pursuit of capturing the perfect image, the genuine essence of intimate connections and the sacred nature of human sexuality can become obscured. The act of sharing selfies, rather than fostering deeper connections, can inadvertently reduce the sacredness of such experiences to mere superficial displays for public consumption. When the quest for self-worth becomes entangled with the external gaze of others, the purity of your spiritual essence is overshadowed.
Vanity is not beauty. You are not merely your body, your figure, your skin, your face, your form. Your beauty lies within. What you create with your presence, is beauty. What comes from your heart, is what allures, entices and attracts. Not the pose, the pout or the suggestion. Before you ask someone to look in your mirror, have to paused to reflect on why their gaze and attention is important? Do you ‘see’ you? Do you ‘like’ you? Do you know the beauty that resides inside you?
