Emotional discernment, the art of understanding and interpreting our feelings when judging others and being in love, is a journey that invites you to look within, to explore the depths of your own heart.
When you encounter another soul, it is all too easy to fall into the trap of judgment, allowing our emotions to cloud your perception. It is easy to project your own heart-centred perceptions onto the canvas of their existence, painting a distorted picture that veils their true essence. But true discernment asks you to pause, to take a step back, and to delve into the depths of your own emotions.
Coloured by the pathway of celestial waveforms inherent within your ethereal body, compounded by your experiences, as well as the multitude of layers of conditioning, what you ‘see’ in others is often a reflection of what lies unresolved or unintegrated within you. Reacting from a place of disappointment or upset teaches you that true understanding and compassion come from a place of deep self-reflection, and of interrogating your own preconceptions and expectations.
As you embark on the path of emotional discernment during this weekend, ahead of the Cardinal Water lunation on Monday (on offer to those subscribing to my newsletter as a meditation into the Bardos), you are afforded the opportunity to learn to embrace the wisdom of the heart.
Cultivating the ability to see beyond the surface, to listen not only to the words spoken but also to the unspoken language of emotions., you can better understand the complexities of being human, shaped by both joy and sorrow. This is all the more keen in matters of love, as the intricacies of your own emotions are complex, hindering, at times, the ability to objectively decipher the subtle whispers of your heart’s longing. Remember that love, in its purest form, requires you to let go of judgment and simply be present with the other person, whilst at the same time holding sacred a space for their vulnerabilities and strengths.
But remember also that true discernment is born out of a deep and intimate connection with your own heart. It starts with self-love, embracing and accepting your own imperfection, as well as raising up the vibration form of those heart-pattern less conscious and less integrated, as you attract what is unhealed into your world as you move perpetually towards wholeness and a ‘lighter’ version of yourself.
In this sacred dance of love, discernment allows you to sense the authenticity and integrity of any given connection, guiding you to differentiate between infatuation and lasting love, between attachment and freedom, and empowering you to recognise when a connection nourishes our souls or whether that connection is no longer needed and needs to be let go.
Discernment is not about harsh judgment or criticism, but rather about gentle observation and understanding. It is about cultivating a deep sense of empathy, compassion, and wisdom.
As we head into the liminal space created pre-New Moon, a lunation that is all about your open heart expression, I hold for you a space that can see the patterns of your heart more clearly and how they are playing out in all of your emotionally charged relationships.
